Laser scanner surveying is carried out using specific instruments capable of detecting the condition of sites by performing an exact geometric scan of all the elements present. Each scan generates a set of points commonly referred to as a “point cloud.” Three-dimensional modeling of the point cloud is not an automatic process. By importing it into BIM modeling software, you obtain the basis on which the three-dimensional model is developed.
