{"id":4455,"date":"2024-10-24T15:49:07","date_gmt":"2024-10-24T15:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.valentinirestauri.it\/restauro\/palazzo-vecchio-descialbatura-grottesche-scala-dei-quartieri-monumentali-dal-terrazzo-di-saturno-a-via-dei-leoni\/"},"modified":"2026-02-19T16:37:16","modified_gmt":"2026-02-19T16:37:16","slug":"palazzo-vecchio","status":"publish","type":"restauro","link":"https:\/\/www.valentinirestauri.it\/en\/restoration\/palazzo-vecchio\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]The aim of this intervention was to <strong>recover and restore the paintings<\/strong>, in order to restore their legibility and ensure their proper conservation over time.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>methodology<\/strong> followed the principles of <em>conservation<\/em>, respecting the material and history of the work.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>removal (descialbo)<\/strong> of the 16th-century paintings began in <strong>January 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>delicate intervention<\/strong> removed three layers of different paints, which were very adherent to each other and to the original surface.<\/p>\n<p>The layers were removed mechanically, using scalpels and small hammers, and finished with EOS QS laser equipment (in QS mode) where it was not possible to use mechanical means.<\/p>\n<p>Many <strong>above-level fillings<\/strong>, carried out in previous interventions, were lowered or removed (those that were no longer suitable).<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>detached plaster and fine plaster<\/strong> were consolidated to reattach them to the substrate using <strong>mortar injections<\/strong> based on natural lime and aggregates.<\/p>\n<p>The main <strong>problem<\/strong> encountered concerned the <strong>cleaning of the surface<\/strong>, which appeared very uneven depending on the floor.<br \/>\nSome areas were very blackened where the mineralized protective layer had incorporated and compacted the dirt; others had yellow-brown stains caused by substances that had penetrated the plaster layers.<br \/>\nCleaning was carried out using <strong>chemical-physical<\/strong> means, with <strong>different packs<\/strong> depending on the characteristics of the surface, alternating reagents and aqueous solutions.<\/p>\n<p>After cleaning, the surface was <strong>consolidated<\/strong> where necessary with <strong>nanocalci<\/strong>, due to their compatibility, good yield, and stability.<\/p>\n<p>All the gaps were filled with a mortar of lime putty and sand for the rough coat, and lime putty, marble powder, and pigment (Sienna earth) for the fine coat.<br \/>\nThe <strong>aesthetic restoration<\/strong> of the pictorial cycle repaired the abrasions in the paintwork with a <em>subtle retouch<\/em>, using pigments and ammonium caseinate.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"featured_media":4457,"template":"","class_list":["post-4455","restauro","type-restauro","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categoria_restauro-restoration"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.valentinirestauri.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/restauro\/4455","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.valentinirestauri.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/restauro"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.valentinirestauri.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/restauro"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.valentinirestauri.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/4457"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.valentinirestauri.it\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4455"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
